iMac Core duo 2, OS 10.7.4, 8 GB Ram

For several weeks the 'Finder' seems to hunt for a long time before opening an app or even within the app on some occasions. Spent quite a bit of time with AppleCare, no solution. Also <Ctrl Q> no longer quits all open apps.

Saw a comment of Chris Breen about com.apple.finder.plist that set me to thinking if in that there could be a problem. His comment had no link so have no way, that I knowmof to ask and he is probably the right person.

OR, do any of you have suggestion?? We have reinstalled OS several times, Even wiped the HD and reinstalled from Back Up .. yuch!

How long does it spin?? varies between 15-30 seconds most of the time but occasionally, a minute. Cmd Opt Esc doesn't work until the ball stops spinning and then the Force Quit window opens but since the app is then also open there is no need to Force Quit.

Six years on Mac but this is the onlyreally bad experience,

Will appreciate.
