Wi-Fi to Quicksilver G4 iPad Wi-Fi to Quicksilver?

I recently picked up an original airport card for a Quicksilver G4 in hope that I could use my iPad 4G as a hub to connect to the Internet in an area with lousy phone lines. Apparently 802.11b doesn't work with iPad. Is there another way to do this?
