An aside: I am beginning to imagine the Macalope writing this blog. Either the pen behind the Macalope is very skilled and is getting me to suspend my disbelief, or I am loosing it and should seek help. :-)
This is my way of giving kudos to the writer.

Unfortunately Mike Daisey will continue to talk with the vague idea that he can make himself out to be right somehow. Even though he's been exposed as a serial fabricator of facts (i.e. wholesale liar) about Apple, he will not acknowledge that he did anything wrong, because he's "not a journalist", which for him provides license to righteously make things up to make Apple look bad.

Daisey? No. Disease-y. Please update your referral if you ever mention the name again. Hoof-out.

I've a problem with combining the headline of "Serial Jerkery" with the actual contents of Lance Ulanoff's piece. I'd put the piece more in the lines of wouldn't it be really cool if Cook did any of these things (well, the first 6). That hardly makes him a jerk (though previous bits might). He's hardly the first one to do so:

Gotta say that your characterization of the Playbook was spot on. Not to mention actually getting your Pie in the Sky wish correct.
As for things that might have Steve-O rolling in his grave, I would humbly submit the following: settling class action lawsuits and admitting Apple shipped defective products. I've a MacBook Pro from work and my wife has a C2D white MacBook. One charger failed and the other charger is failing because of crappy strain reliefs. It is much improved, but why oh why can't Apple simply MagSafe it on both ends or at least have a plug. It's irritating to have to throw away an expensive charger because of Apple can't be bothered to pony up for a decent strain relief.

I abandoned Gizmodo years ago after Diaz "won" an argument with me by assaulting my complete lack of real-world IT experience. I guess I forgot to mention my 20 years in the field working with Fortune-500 companies.
The ad hominem attack is the final refuge of the ignorant.

I'd amplify that to say that ad hominem arguments are the final refuge of the ignorant and cowardly - those who haven't got the courage or integrity to admit their ignorance and choose to attack the messenger instead.

It looks like there probably will be 16:9 4 inch iPhone, after all. Plenty of very authentic looking video and images now available. Nice piece, though.
