The group doesn't have anything to do with it. Just add a new address to the contact the way you normally would.

The contact has the second email address already added to it. I am trying to put the second address into the group.

The question doesn't quite make sense as posed. Groups don't have addresses. Groups have people, and people have addresses.

What are you really trying to do? By which I mean, what goal are you trying to accomplish for which you've decided "add a second email address ... to a group" is the solution?

Are you saying that when you send e-mail to a group you're looking for a way to control which address is used for users with multiple addresses? I think - not on a Mac right now to verify - that the context menu for a group has a command that lets you fine-tune the details of message distribution. Perhaps it's in there.

One of the people in my group has two email addresses. He monitors each in different locations, so if I want to contact him, I have to email to both of his addresses. Since he is part of a group with other names, I want to put a second adress in the group list.

In his contact page I have the two addresses listed as many other people in the address book have.

That's not where I want to add the second address.

There doesn't seem to be a direct way to do that. I experimented a bit at lunch and I really can't find anything better than creating a second, dummy record for that person that just has the alternate e-mail address and then add both records to the group. Sorry. It is kind of a weird use case, though.

It is unusual. In the last incarnation of Address book I thought you could just drag and drop an address there.

Not detached from anything else. The hierarchy I described: Groups have people, people have addresses, has been there from the start. You can't have an address in a group by any means other than having it as part of a person record.
