Cleanup iPhoto files

That sounds reasonable, it may have been done when I was having an issue with iPhoto. The files reside in my home file (there is a little house icon) in front of the file name. I wish I knew the exact term to use. Do you think it is safe to trash the indicated files?

They're right in your home directory? Is the Pictures file your "real" iPhoto library or do you still have one in the Pictures folder (actually named "iPhoto Library")? If the one in home isn't your real library, are all the pictures in it also in your real library?
The short form here is that there really is no short form. Only you are in any kind of position to determine whether the contents of those folders are redundant. There's a program called Tidy Up! that could help in this process; it's a very powerful duplicate finder.
