Some, not all, of my disk images (.dmg files) will not mount. Some of these images mounted in the past and some have been recently downloaded and have never mounted. When I try to mount them, I get an error message, no mountable file system.
I have run Disk Utility and repaired permissions. I have tried to mount them with Pacifist, Disk Utility and, of course, DiskImageMounter. None of these worked. I have tried to mount them in terminal using sudo hdituil attach, but I get an error message, command not found.
Edward-Gelbs-Computer:~ edwardgelb$ sudo hdituil attach AmazonMP3Downloaderinstall.dmg
Password:
sudo: hdituil: command not found
What can I do to mount these unmountable disk images?
OS X version 10.7.4
