A) - I bet Apple LOVES this chain of stores.

B) - What an amazing CEO... to be this forward-thinking!

I love my iPad and think the concept behind this is fantastic. That said, the instal at LGA was a huge mistake. I flew threw this terminal twice less than a month ago and it was totally packed. Stress was not being reduced in this area. As an airport operator who has worked in an older cramped terminal facility, this did not help out.

Totally agree. Ordering food and checking flight status I can understand. However, letting people surf the web in theory may sound great, but in reality not so good. I can just picture the bottleneck.

This seems destined to be a flop. People in airports are stressed because they are trying to get somewhere, and I can't picture them wanting to slow down and surf the web at the nearby iPad kiosk. And besides, most all of them already have an iPad with them. Makes no sense to me. But, like everything else, we'll see...

You know what would take the stress out of traveling? Not allowing airport wifi to hijack everything my phone is capable of doing!! Very frustrating.

These days you have to arrive hours early to get through airport security. So, many people spend a lot of time waiting in the holding areas. If you have a book or magazine to read, fine. But for others it's time spent twiddling their thumbs. The iPads should be a hit - not to mention great publicity for Apple. Hopefully they gave OTG a hefty volume discount. Certainly the iPads are a great idea at airport restaurants. No waiting in line to place an order. Won't miss that one bit. If, as AIROPS reports, the iPad stations were packed, all that shows is how popular they are already. How does he know they were not relieving stress? At a minimum they were being useful, which is more than you can say about anything in holding before the iPads were installed. I don't doubt this idea will quickly catch on with other airport service providers.
