I have a MacBook Pro with 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 with 4GB of memory. The laptop came preloaded with OS X Lion. On more than one occasion, I have booted the laptop only to find that I can't start any application. When I try to start an application (such as Safari), all I get is the spinning beach ball. The only thing I can do at that point is press and hold the power button until the machine powers off. At this point I can re-boot it and nine times out of ten it will work. This morning was different. My wife tried using the machine and she finally gave up on it after re-booting the machine two different times. Has anyone else reported this issue? Is there something that I should do differently? Normally, I would try to "Force Quit" the application but at this point I can't even click on the "Apple" logo.
TIA
