They say keyboards and cell phones are the filthiest items around. I think we can now add iPads to that list.

We didn't have an iPad when it came time for potty training our twins, though I have doubts about using one for this particular purpose. Particularly for those with boys. That much having been said, Once Upon A Potty was a good book for our pair. The slow pacing helps when getting a little one to stay on the toilet. He sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat...
I'd also recommend Time to Pee by Mo Willems. It may not have an app, but his writing is a hoot. He's a talented writer. We're also big fans of the Gerald and Piggie series. It is also a well learned lesson in our household that you Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.

I don't see how an app would help a child learn to use the toilet. A lot of these just seem silly.

Are you under the impression that the iPad is used in the same way as an old newspaper for a housebreaking a pet? Because that's not how it works, I can assure you.

I think you missed the point of the previous comment. One doesn't tend to use the motel's remote control in that manner either, but it's a good idea to have some sanitary wipes or isopropanol as the previous user may have been touching it with, shall we say, unclean hands. Particularly if you're staying at a place with pay per view. ;-)

I have been using the Potty Time with Elmo app with my son a little, and I must say, that for a busy parent, it's a lot easier to have a "sticker chart" in my cell phone than having to make a new one for the wall every day or every week. My only request is that I'd like it to have more than 3 rows on the check chart, I'd like at least 6 that I can scroll to.
My son's favorite part is the puzzle.

Smarty Potty Training! Super cool interactive way to get toddlers comfortable with the process plus awesome indie music that gets them signing- makes potty training easier- yes that's what an app is meant to do! No one said bring the iPad in the bathroom with you!
