Question about maps: What's the difference between the realistic-looking 3D view and the wire-frame 3D view? Is one tied to another, i.e., are the places that haven't been photographed with Flyover also left out of the wire-frame 3D view?

I'm not sure if it's 1:1, but currently there are very few places with the wireframe 3D view. I suspect it's just a matter of Apple and its content partners to continue mapping major (and minor) cities as the year progresses.

Why would iOS 6 exclude Siri support from the iPad 2?

Your article seems to indicate that FaceTime over 3g will work with the iPhone 4 but an article on MacRumors yesterday had contradictory information. Could you confirm?

iPhone 4 won't have turn-by-turn directions??? What's up with that? I understand that we don't have Siri to speak them, but why shouldn't we get the directions, especially since the Maps app is being replaced!

Nope. It is only for 4S and New iPad.
"*Siri will be available only on iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd generation) and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply."

It most likely uses siri network to give turn by turn. Your maps app right now does not do this so it is not break anything you don't have already.

"And a growing number of newly released iPad apps require the faster processor and improved graphics of the two most recent models."

I have a friend with a 1st gen iPad and she has had no problem with new apps. However, she doesn't do high-end games. Her most processor-intensive app is probably Snoopy's Street Fair.

It really doesn't seem fair to deny iOS updates based on that (not everyone is a gamer!) especially when they are including the 3GS, which I'm pretty sure has an inferior processor to the iPad.

Is there anyway to turn off the Facebook feature? Can Siri be deleted? As for Passbook, that's a laugh. Half the time the airport scanners aren't working at the TSA check-in and then those passengers are well and truly hosed. Give me my paper ticket....

Question about Facebook. Do we really have to sync our Facebook friends with our contacts? Or is this an option that can be turned off. Cause I really don't want all my fb "friends" that I communicate with once every blue moon, to clutter up my contacts. If I can't turn it off, then I won't bother signing in to the iOS or the Mac OS Facebook login. I like the system wide sharing options, and don't mind the calendars. But I don't want the contacts to get cluttered. Thanks.

I have an iPhone 4, so no Siri. But I'm planning on buying a 5 when it shows up this fall. Can anyone tell me if you can compose e-mails with Siri and have incoming e-mails read to you by Siri in iOS 5 or 6, assuming you have at least an iPhone 4S?

The iPad 2 must not have that special noise canceling microphone that Siri needs (a better question was by the time they made the iPad 2 they must have know about that feature coming, so why not?)
