As far as I can see you need a Simplenoe paid account with email to note for this to work.

Nope, as explained in the article, it works with a free Simplenote account. I did all my testing with a free account.

I tried this under mountain lion and it didn't work. I use voice over and did not see this in the extras menu. here is a screen cast not done well but anyway here is a screen cast I sent to the enveloper regarding this. Any thoughts anyone? I have simple note on my iPhone so dunno what to do from here. I've tried contacting the developer with no luck. This is not looking promising. Link to screen cast:

It's not perfect by any means but hopefully it will show what voice over is missing when I start note tote.
