Seems like iWork is on the same path as the MacPro

Here's another important question: will there be an option to only sync on request? My Keynote presentations tend to run 50-100MB in size. If it's trying to do a full update every time I make a change to a phrase, the delays will make it unusable (and wipe out my data plan).

Another question is whether iWork apps on MacOS X will be held back by the goal of syncing to iOS versions.

I should report that MacWorld's forums are incompatible with DoNotTrackPlus. Clicking on submit does nothing until I disable DNT+.

iCloud does delta changes so only the changed data would be sent.

Any info on whether numbers for Mac will include forms, like the IOS version?

Let's hope the improved syncing also includes major new versions of the iWork apps. Syncing is nice, but iWork on MacOS X deserves better treatment than HyperCard got from Apple.

I wouldn't place much stock in the WWDC 2012 keynote demos.... they were faked. Watchat 59:20 in the video where Craig Federighi misses his line, which doesn't quite jive with the pre-recorded dictated tweet. All that Siri stuff... the magically replaced photo in Pages... the Racer Game demo... all just smoke and mirrors. Don't believe any of it... it just doesn't work that way.

Indeed. There are a few major features that the iWork programs are lacking—my particular complaints center on footnote implementation in Pages (ability to use both footnotes and endnotes in the same document and the ability to split long footnotes over two pages), but Numbers probably is in more desperate need for an upgrade. Were it not for these occasional iOS-centered updates, I would probably have long since assumed Apple had abandoned the programs.

Oh well. Hopefully my footnote issues will be fixed at some point. If not, I may eventually just have to switch to something else, which would be quite sad given my fondness for Pages. (I particularly love its handling of styles, which seem to be better implemented than in any other word processor I've worked with).

Was there any talk at WWDC about any updates to iWork '09. Wondering if I should get it now or wait a couple of months for a newer version?

I wish developers and customers AND THE FREAKING MEDIA (I'm lookin at YOU, MW people!) would make as big a stink about software that's approaching 4 years since a major release as they do about the MacPro and whether or not iOS6's icon will be white or gray or orange.

Hey Pinniped, I worked on the demos for the introduction of the Windows Phone 7 in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. That was smoke and mirrors too: HD live video streaming was demoed. But, there was no network stack, only VGA graphics, etc. Everything was faked. The hardest part was faking HD video for a second and a half. There wasn't even a video player!
