Hello. I have an old (2008) PhotoVu digital picture frame that used to be able to connect to my Mac's iPhoto library. It can also display photos from a hard drive connected directly to one of its USB ports. I just had the frame repaired (even though the company went out of business in 2010) and don't seem to be able to display photos from the iPhoto library anymore, so I'm limited to the USB drive. Is there any way to make the iPhoto connection work again? It has something to do with Samba, which makes the connection from my Mac to the PhotoVu over Ethernet. When I try to make that connection now, I get this error:

pd::643 2012.06.17 15:33:40 [*** addpd - Error adding Photo Directory: System Code: 256, Message: SMB connection fail
ed Error connecting to 10.0.1.199 (Connection refused) 29186: Connection to 10.0.1.199 failed ***]

It has nothing to do with the Apple firewall or Intego's firewall or Little Snitch, all of which I've deactivated for testing purposes. I've played with File Sharing (where SMB is turned on) as well.

Played with something called SMBUp, also.

Hope somebody has some ideas...

Thanks!

You've confirmed that 10.0.1.199 is the correct address?

Yes, 10.0.1.199 is the static IP for my Mac.

Hi there, I've got one of these PhotoVu also failing on me (suspect the power supply or motherboard to be the issue). Where did you end up getting it repaired? It would be a great help to find out where you got it fixed! Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your queries however.

Cheers,
M.
