I want to attach a file folder that contains several files and find I cannot attach the main file. I do not want to attach all the individual files in the subdirectory. How do I select all the files as Shift or Command keys do not work in the subdirectory.

I think you need to explain in more detail what you're trying to do. To what are you trying to attach the files? What tool are you trying to use to select them?
