That's (2880*1800) + (2*(2560*1440))+(1920*1080) = 14,630,400pixels. My God.

I recall connecting two display to a 2011 iMac gets it really hot. Is it the same with the Macbook Pro Retina?

I didn't have a chance to stress test or run benchmarks. I hope to do that soon.

I have a 2011 thunderbolt Macbook Pro and run with three displays:
the 17inch built-in,
a 27 in Thunderbolt Display
a 27 in DisplayPort non-Thunderbolt Display

To pull this off, I needed to daisy chain thru a intermediate thunderbolt device other than the Apple Thunderbolt display. Not sure why. I happened to have a Pegasus R4 so it wasn't a problem.

Bottomline is that it works and works well even w/ last year's tech. I wonder if with two thunderbolt ports on this new macbook one could run 6 total displays:
4 DisplayPort displays off of the Thunderbolt jacks, the HDMI TV, and the built-in.

I hooked up my Thunderbolt display and a 24" Dell we had at the office (via HDMI) and now have nearly 11 million pixels of screen real-estate. I am digging my new Macbook Pro's video capabilities.

if you want to just be able to kick it up to 2880x1800 without having to go through an interface, I put up a little app that just switches your max to its full largest resolution. I stick it in my login items so if I reboot it always gets knocked back up. The Change Resolution one is more for testing, and is more annoying to use since you have to type resolutions to test.

Amazing! I can't wait to see some benchmarks of this running. My particular needs wouldn't be quite this high, but it's still pretty amazing to have that much real estate up and running from a laptop.
