Agreed - SlimBatteryMonitor is the first third party software I install on every new MacBook I buy. It's great.

This app literally saves my computer from dying 4-5 times a week. So essential! After a year of heavy use, a MacBook battery is just not reliable-- it will either hibernate too soon, which is slow and annoying, or it will just die (which is what mine does).

Totally different app-- this is not about monitoring power level but having alerts and auto-sleep when battery is low.

I use this. It's been pretty helpful. My computer has not died since I've had it. This problem comes up for me maybe once a week.

One more piece of clutter to find itself on the menu bar. No thanks, Im intelligent enough to remember to look at the % of batter left every now and then. Developers take us for a bunch of idiots sometimes. Tell me, is there an app that reminds me to go to the bathroom? Or do I have to do that myself?

Confused. Does it shut down, or sleep?

"The app's purpose in life is solitary: It warns you when your battery hits a certain amount of time remaining, and then shuts down your computer."

"You'll probably want a heads-up before the app puts your Mac to sleep ..."
