Impressive machine. However, MagSafe 2 is a HUGE step backwards. As an owner of several Macbooks that used the old "T" style connector, I can say that it was far, far less durable than the much smaller and less intrusive "L" shaped one. I thought Jony Ive seeks to make things "better". ;) I'm just not understanding going back to the original design..

Still, not enough of an issue to mar how amazing the Air has become. Time has finally caught up with it (almost)!

Just one quibble. The 320m wasn't a discrete GPU. It was just a custom integrated graphics processor, albeit better than anything Intel had at the time.

Oh, good catch. I confused the 320M with the GT 320M. Updating.

One question - the two new 13" models have a half-hour difference in battery life, but just differ in the size of the SSD?

Thanks.

The cylindrical version is more of a headache to connect than the flat version - you have to twist it to line it up. I am wondering why they did not make the cable on the new version connect from the back instead of the side.

That's the main difference between those two models, yes. A half-hour difference is small enough that it could be due to margin of error in the testing procedure, or it could be related to different SSDs and other internal components.

it seems to be made more durable, and the end is metal... time will tell, but I really hated the cylinder ones... they don't pop off as easy and I had trouble with a few of the cables starting to come apart near the end.

When comparing the 11 inch to the 13 inch you say the choice mainly comes down to screen size. True, but for me it's also important that you get at between 1-2 hours of additional battery life with the 13 inch.

Ah, that's a good point.

When you say you played Portal, do you mean Portal 2? I'd love to see how games like Portal 2, Team Fortress 2, and Dungeon Defenders run on an Air compared to a Macbook Pro.

After reading this article,I am more inclined to get the 13 inch macbook air over the macbook pro. I am college student majoring in CS. I think the Air and Pro are both suitable. The portability of the Air is a big plus.
but it would be great to get another's opinion.

Ask yourself if you really, truly need any of the features of the 13-inch MacBook Pro. If not, easy decision ;)
