I use Macbook air MAC OS 10.6.8 and am considering buying a new Macbook air with Mountain Lion. To what extent will my existing software run on Mountain Lion? Specifically, Will Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 and Adobe Illustrator v 14.0.0 run on Mountain Lion?
Thanks

considering the lead time for developers to get their act together.... the theory is that they will be.

considering Adobe doesn't move very fast.... your mileage may vary.

but it's Adobe's ball and they should be doing it.

plan ahead tho, if you buy and they don't run.. it's not Adobe's fault.

You're talking about 2008 software here, four years old. That's borderline: too recent to say "why are you still on that fossil?" but old enough that Adobe can want you to upgrade. I'd say your chances are way better than even, but if you're concerned and you don't need the hardware upgrade right away, wait until 10.8 has been around for a bit and check the forums.

I hope they will bring back Rosetta! Also, have it as an option to download for Lion!

They're not going to bring back Rosetta. They couldn't if they wanted to - the company that owns the core technology no longer licenses it for PowerPC->x86 translation - and they probably don't want to because it was at least as much a liability as a benefit to both Apple's shareholders and their users. (And I say that as someone who only last week upgraded his desktop to Lion because I have some PowerPC apps for which there are no native replacements.)
