Instacast is so much better. Trust me, it is well-worth the extra cash.

(Why the down votes?)

Biggest issue I've seen so far is, assuming you're listening on AutoPlay and set the current podcast to double speed playback, transitioning to the next podcast in the list puts the speed back to normal.

Anyone find a solution to keep the 2x speed playback carry from podcast to podcast?

I like it. I'm actually hoping that Apple will break down iTunes like they have done with their apps on iOS.

If you are talking about the iTunes Stores and the App Stores, I REALLY hope that doesn't happen.

No way to add a podcast via URL. No chapter support. Skip this and get Downcast (or Instacast)

Dan, I may have missed it, but how does this app sync with iTunes now? I installed the app on my iOS devices and clicked sync in iTunes on my desktop, to include all unplayed episodes. Nothing happened. A couple of other sites have also mentioned a syncing system among iOS devices to you can pick up where you left off on multiple devices. Is that organized through iTunes?

There is chapters support. Go to the tape recorder interface and you'll see that you can navigate between chapters.

Ok well upon 2nd sync, it does appear to be operating with iTunes now. However, the video podcasts can be pulled up via the Video app (as they have been) as well as the Podcast app now.

Played episodes on the iPad/iPhone will not be synchronized with iTunes when played in the new podcast app, but when played in the music or video app they will - Hope that is a bug ...

De-tangling the rats nest that is the iTunes.app is probably the ultimate goal so this is a step in the right direction. However, this will be a long and tortured road.
Now we have two iOS apps to handle RSS-fed podcast channels ne collections ne courses. This is not just a nomenclature problem. I can have an RSS feed containing an *.epub file. The iTunes U app knows what to do with it but the Podcasts app does not. There are more such issues....

You can subscribe by URL by pasting the URL into the search field at the top of your podcast list.

Nope, not for my podcasts (they work fine in Downcast). The forward and back buttons are even greyed out.

Also every time I try to download a new episode it says "Unable to download".

All of these are non-catalog podcasts though, Apple probably hamstrings the ones that don't go through their fingers.

...yikes. I'm happy they included the feature but wow, talk about non-intuitive functionality.
