I used to be able to drag a URL to the dock and the little springy icon would show up and stay on the dock, making it very convenient to easily and quickly open a web page right from the dock. Recently I had to start my iMac in safe mode for an unrelated problem. After doing so, all of my URL icons were invisible on the dock, but instead there were empty spaces as though they were still there. I can mouse over those empty spaces and will get a menu that says "open" or "remove from dock",but the icons themselves are missing. I know how to drag the URL's to the dock. I did it all of the time. It seems that something got corrupted when I opened in safe mode that time. It's a problem because 1) it looks weird and 2)when I used to mouse over the icons the name of the URL would appear above them and I could pick the one I was looking for. Now the name doesn't appear either.
