the original iphone was the best money I ever spent on a piece of technology. Nothing I've ever seen has been so far ahead of what else was available at the time.

Well let's see now: my circa 1989 Nokia brick cost me US $1,100 (it had been over twice that a few months before) and daytime calls were 65 cents a minute and nighttime maybe 45 cents a minute. The battery charge lasted for about 15 minutes of talk time and a charger kit for the car cost over $100. Each of my three iPhones costs me less per month than did that Nokia.

Totally agree - people often forget how much phones used to cost and you're is a brilliant case-in-point!
