The biggest drawback for me is Wi-Fi only

Until Google has a large stable of apps made for tablets, why bother? There is so much more you can do with an iPad (unless all you care about is surfing the web and buying entertainment content from Google)

The Nexus 7 is the same price as an iPod Touch.

Which means that it's a good option for anyone who wants to play games on a larger screen.

It's very competitive with the iPod Touch and with the Kindle Fire in terms of price and performance.

However, iOS currently has a vastly superior selection of games and apps compared to Android. In my favorite categories (e.g. music synthesis apps) there's really no comparison, but this may change now that Google is fixing issues such as audio latency.

As noted elsewhere, the Nexus-6 series is much more powerful than Google's Nexus 7, in spite of some inbuilt genetic limitations such as a 4-year lifespan and occasional homicidal rages.

What I like about the Nexus 7, it's not an iPad killer was never meant to be, but it sure should make the iPod touch think twice about it's format size. I own Mac everything and I bought a Nexus 7. Why because it's fast, it has everything mobile you need and it can fit in your pocket. Email, Twitter, the web, games, books movies and it can connect to a lot of Wi-Fi areas. May be lacking on apps but it certainly has most of the main ones you need.
If Apple's not bringing out a comparable tablet it sure better think hard about this one, because it could be just the one that is an iPod killer!

Right up until the moment you try to jam the Nexus 7 (or any 7" pad) into your pocket.

Deal-breaker.

Why is there no mention of inbuilt GPS? The base iPad, or any iPod touch doesn't have this feature. And none of Apple's "i" devices have expandable storage.

And if you compare the size of a 7" tablet and compare it to an iPod touch. And then declare the size is a deal-breaker because it isn't pocketable. Simply leads to the conclusion that your grasping a straws to dislike something merely because it's not an Apple product. Sad.
