My MacbookPro overheated big time and cooked itself this past weekend. It won't boot, but the hard drive is apparently OK. . I need to recover files from the hard drive, but the only other computer I have acces to is a Ubuntu Linus box. I pulled the hard drive and using linux I can see my user folders, but when I try to open folders I get a permissions error. Is there any way to solve this problem without another Mac? I have a new MacbookPro on order, but I need some of the files before it will be delivered. HELP.
