iCloud e-mail, and Apples Mail app' on the desktop.

iCloud using the browser allows you to change alias names, as well as keeping your account name.
Example browser,
Peter <peter@....com
Paul <paul@....com (alias)
Mary <mary@....com (alias)

Desktop Mail app'
Example,
Peter <peter@....com
Peter <paul@....com (alias)
Peter <mary@....com (alias)

------
Now I was able to change the Desktop to work like the browser, but it creates another account mirroring or creating another .mac/.me account.

So WHEN I receive or send e-mail, it will load into the alias account as well as the original.

I was wondering if someone knew how to change Mail app' 4.5, using SL 10.6.8, or how difficult it would be for Apple to make that change like they allow from the browser.

I hope that made sense,
Thanks

Can you phrase the question differently? I'm having trouble understanding what you mean. Possibly this has something to do with the forum software eliminating parts of the example addresses you typed.

Thanks, I thought it might sound confusing. I'll try again,

Since going from MM to iCloud, the Preferences in the browser / Mail allows you to edit alias names to correspond with that e-mail address.

Apples desktop Mail app' doesn't allow you to edit the aliases to correspond with said names/aliases.

They're all .mac/.me addresses as you know.

so the bowser allows the edit to become
Bastion <Bastion@ mac. com>
the desktop app without an edit would be
Peter <Bastion@ mac. com>

As mentioned above, after several attempts to try and just create an alias account on the desktop to match the browser, I was able to do it, but it mirrored the entire other account.
But I was able to get it (aliases) to say Bastion <bastion@... > not Peter <bastion@....>

In short, the desktop Mail app' (at this time) doesn't allow the Name change edit, like the browser does.

Did I make it more simple or more confusing?

Thanks again.
