I love TED and don`t mind paying for these books but I just downloaded this app and am being charged for the books I download.
They don`t appear to be free as the promo says.
Just FYI

@Kingsmuse...
It says that "founding subscribers" (those that pay the 14.00 for a 3month subscription at least for the first three month period) then can download the backcatalog for free. I agree that the story does not make this clear.

I have downloaded it twice, and have yet to get a copy that works. It won't recognize that I have an Internet connection. I hope I can get a working copy before the subscription deal runs out.

Thank you very much, I should have read more carefully.
I`ll go get my subscription and be set.

I had some problems downloading a couple of books as well but I`m away from home on a sketchy hotel WiFi and thought that might be the problem.
It`s a bit buggy with the downloads (if it`s not my wifi connection) and there are a couple of UI properties that could be improved but the content of the essays is well worth it in this format.
I`m sure they`ll fix the bugs in future updates after some user input.
