How to get BTTM to work with iTunes library from LAN to WAN?

I store my iTunes library on my time capsule. Accessing the files locally works great, but are there any solutions for playing my iTunes library over the internet using back to my mac? I can access the music files with back to my mac, but I can't play them with iTunes without screwing with my library.

I could imagine a script in which iTunes directory path was different depending on whether I am LAN or WAN. Any elegant solutions?
