CRM Suggestions Need something other than Daylite

I'm looking for a new CRM application. I've tried Daylite 3, Contactizer Pro, SOHO Organizer and had success only with Daylite 3 but had to get rid of that because of syncing issues that kept duplicating my contacts (I have about 1,000 of them!). I'd like to try Daylite 4 but their demo only lets you use the sample database and I can't swing the $180 upgrade license fee.
Can anyone recommend a good CRM application OTHER than what I've listed here? I'm looking for something that is strong with contacts (can search and find stuff like 'Basketball expert' and the like).
Any recommendations or leads would be greatly appreciated.
