Within a 200,000 word document, I have the need to link to like numbered references wherever they appear. While reviewing the User Guide for Pages '09 in its PDF form I discovered that by selecting a page number listed in the contents section took me to that page. Can something like this be done with other than page numbers? I would like to know how or be informed of the named procedure that can, if possible, do this. I want to be able to press on a paragraph number found in the contents, index, and referenced locations within the text that will take me to that numbered paragraph.

Additionally, I would like this ability to be available to end users who down load the file. My initial intention is make this document available in the PDF format (the only way I know of, given my limited experience, to allow someone who is not a MAC to have the file as I composed it).

I read the topics about Bookmarks and Hyperlinks in the User's Guide. The Bookmarks ability I somewhat understand does not appear to address my need. As far as Hyperlink, it appears to be a linkage to something that goes outside or beyond the document. I am not entirely clear as to what Hyperlink is all about. Still looking for a basic definition.

Oops, I believed I found the answer after reviewing what Bookmarks and Hyperlinks are about. Stand down from drill.

The only remaining question is are these bookmarks and links usable once the document is changed from .pages to .PDF?
