The best thing about these so called gems are the alternatives and warnings provided by savvy users. Many thanks for your informed comments and suggestions.

I 2nd that thought. Nothing against this app but Cocktail does heaps more, has a famously clean interface and costs $14.00 for a lifetime single user license and $39.00 for a lifetime 5 macs license.

I've seen that issue before. Your experience is in line with previous reports.

Acrobat Pro and possibly Reader have the same issue, or perhaps all Adobe apps.

I have been using MacKeeper for about 10 months. No real issues, and it seems to do the job without any disasters cropping up. I used Onyx a few years ago, and found that is seemed very slow. Maybe it's better now.
