I just bought myself the new powerbook g4 17inch and im a newbie to mac. i am having trouble transfering my email from outlook 2002 on my pc to microsoft entourage on mac can anyone tell me how do i succesfully transfer all my emails and contacts

Take some time to learn how to use email, using IMAP, rather than the more common POP3 system.

The cheapest way is to use a gmail account, using their IMAP function.

Then, in Outlook-PC, you open your IMAP account, and drag and drop all the emails from your PC folders into the folders of the IMAP account.

Then, in the Mac, you access that same IMAP account, and all your emails are there.

Initially, when I first started learning IMAP, after having had 12 years of using POP email, I found IMAP rather confusing. But, once I got it, it is the best thing ever.

Now with Google's gmail providing free IMAP, there's no price barrier, whereas previously IMAP was rather expensive for large storage.
