Hi there,

Lion just shows all the windows of the active program, e.g. I can put several Safari windows next to each other and see their contents. BUT it doesn't seem to be possible to put windows of different programs next to each other, for example Safari and a text document. That has always been possible in all the versions before. Hope that I'm wrong and it's possible with lion, too. Please help, because my lion hides all other (inactive) program windows and I can't work properly this way.

Thx,
Andy

Lion doesn't do anything like this. It sounds like you have some third-party application installs that hides all but the current application. Did you recently install any sort of Window-manager or other GUI-enhancing application. There are a number of Mac apps that have this functionality.
