This numbering scheme has become such a joke I no longer download the browser because the advancements don't mean anything anymore. Minor updates being given major revision numbering servers only to undermine my trust in what you're doing. Six months ago we were at what, Firefox 8? This is absurd.
Basking in the glow of iPad Retina goodness.

I agree with you...Google started it with Chrome and then Mozilla started losing ground to Chrome. It seems that some users (a good number in fact) feel that the higher the version number, the more advanced the browser. So in a matter of a few months, Chrome passed the version number of Firefox which, as we know, had a much longer pedigree. So Mozilla decided to play the rapid development game and threw the previous version numbering criteria out the window. It's a shame they fell for marketing over substance. It's also harder on IT staffs who need to test a new product before implementing more widely to their staffs. Has the LTS version been released? I haven't seen it. Would much rather stick with something we can count on for at least a year.

Now Netflix won't work on a 64-bit Mac, won't successfully switch to 32-bit.
Whatever happened to "If it ain't broke, don't fix it..."

Ummmm...running Lion with Firefox 14.0.1 and I just pulled up Netflix and it worked just fine. You might need to update your Silverlight plugin or something.

When is Firefox expected to add Retina graphics support for the new Retina MacBook Pro?

I agree the numbering system is lame. But security updates are important whatever number Mozilla applies to them. Cutting off your nose to spite your face doesn't hurt Mozilla. Of course, if you stop using Firefox altogether that might make an impression over time if enough people vote with their feet. But using Chrome instead of Firefox won't help because they started this madness in the first place. Which means Opera or some other third tier browser - of Safari. There is something(s) to like and dislike about every web browser. The only question is what floats your boat - or sinks it.

I would applaud seeing explicit specifications about the affected (and not affected) OS's. Surely some other persons besides me have chosen NOT to yet "upgrade" to Lion and are still running Snow Leopard by their conscious choice. Thanks for considering this suggestion. With best regards, Bob.
