And don't forget 'Recce London' from mapply. It's one of the coolest maps I've seen on iOS. And it's free.

Oh, great! An article about iOS apps for London that comes out 3 days after I get back from London!

(grin)

But seriously, folks, I'd add an app that keeps track of your Oyster Card balance for the tube. There are several free ones. The Oyster Card is the card used to store money for your tube trips, and using it offers very significant discounts. It also saves time by not requiring you to buy tickets over and over. But you do want to know how much money you have stored on it, so you can top it up in time to avoid another trip to the dreaded lines at the ticket machines. You can top up in cash, or automatically over the Internet.

Every time I went into the tube, before I "tapped in" with my Oyster Card, I'd have a look at my balance. It was fast and free, but not something you can do in the deepest parts of the underground.

The final plus is that although there is usually a 5-pound ($8) deposit on the card itself, you can get that deposit back -- INCLUDING any balance you may still have on the card -- quickly and easily when you leave. At the airport, just "tap out" of the system as usual, then go to the ticket booth -- the one with the human being. In a couple of minutes you'll have your money back, in cash, ready to use at ye olde duty-free shoppe.

Hi from Macworld UK. Just to let you guys heading over for the Olympics that Virgin is providing free WiFi on the London underground (most stops) during the olympics which will make navigation a lot easier. Check your WiFi when underground.

Also. top tip... try the riverboat to Greenwich then the DLR to Stratford ;-) give yourself plenty of time and enjoy the view.
