"between June 11, 2012, and July 25, 2012"
I bought my MacBook Pro late 2011 model on January 1st, 2012 new from the Apple Store, so it sorta sucks that I'll have to plop down $20 for the new OS, but then again, I'm not experiencing the lag that others are with Lion, seeing as how I've upgraded the heck outta this thing (SSD + OptiBay + 16GB DDR3).
I'll wait a little bit and see how all the early upgraders are doing with the new OS.

Messages took some fiddling with to get it to recognize my iMessage ID's, but now seems to work OK.
After downloading, but before installing, I ran a Time Machine back-up, so had a copy of the installer there for when I want to use it on my other machines and/or to make a bootable drive

I entered my password and it started logging in, but before showing the desktop, a screen popped up that says "transition is trying to modify the system network configuration. Type your password to allow this." and it has spots for my username and password similar to any network login screen is OS X.
Anyone else have this happen or know what it means?

1. Can I provide an apple id and password for only the App Store and not for iTunes and iCloud? How would you do that?
2. If I am not subscribed to iCloud will I get the standard Open/Save dialogs without the iCloud stuff?
At least for the time being I do not want iCloud. Don't need it and I have no issues with the current file system and the way I have organized my stuff.
Also I don't need the iTunes store. I rip my own CD's and organize everything my way.

You can install the final release over the GM, but they're the same build, so there's no real reason to.

that 4.4GB install, is going to take forever on my ~80kbyte/s connection, not to mention exceed the monthly download cap - which will result in shaping to a very slow speed.
I would hate to be one of the people on 3G networks, who might have the pay 3-4 times the cost of the OS for that amount of data.
Apple, please release a dvd!

Thanks Dan - I wish there had been a way for me to buy ML without the download then
