Is there any way to display folder contents by date, etc without the dividers and other iPhoto nonsense? The only arrangement that gets rid of this crap is "none", which makes this view totally useless.

As part of my work I need to take screen shots of Finder windows and this business of dividing lines and "show all" makes this impossible - unless I want to drag the image into Photoshop and manually delete all this junk. There is no reason why I should have to drag everything into Portfolio or another app just in order to take a clean screenshot of a selection of images.

One thing I have come to absolutely loathe about Apple over recent years is it's all-or-nothing tunnel vision approach to just about everything. This issue pops up constantly. It is like they have abandoned all connections with the concept of common sense.

Why is it "totally useless?" What "iPhoto nonsense" are you talking about? Not trying to be difficult; just trying to understand what kind of sort or presentation you're looking for.
