Recently my 2010 Macbook 7,1 started operating sluggishly. Used disk utility to check HDD and was informed the HDD was corrupted. Tried booting using original OS disk to repair HDD but unsure how to proceed. Can someone walk me through the repair procedure using the original OS disk? Thanks for your help.

boot from install DVD.
open Disk Utilities.
select your Hard Drive.
click Repair Disk.
wait until finished.
while you are there, when Repair is finished, click Repair Permissions.
don't worry about what it doesn't repair.. there is always a couple that don't.
reboot to your HD and go.
