Macbook Pro trackpad not working Have to hold down trackpad to "click" rather than just tap

(EDIT: I realized this was posted in the wrong forum and decided to re-post it in the correct area.)

I just got this problem with my Mac today; it no longer lets me just tap the trackpad in order to click links or programs. Now I have to hold down on the trackpad in order to click anything. I can't even change where text appears when I type when filling out forms or posts without holding down.

Here's a screenshot of my trackpad settings under system preferences.

This is issue becoming a major hassle for me. Does anyone know what's causing this to happen or know of a solution (besides getting a mouse)?
