Pirates are stealing $0.99 games now? I'd love to hear their defense(s) for this action, I need for fertilizer for my garden.

Hey Dan, thought this would be a good place to mention this, I haven't seen any actual stories anywhere.
My "Yahoo portfolio" all of a sudden in the last couple of days has a date (Aug 15) in AAPL's "dividend pay date" field, which field has been empty for as long as I've had a portfolio. I'm not sure that means anything, but you'd be in a better position to check this out than I am.
What do your sources say?

I'm not really sure what you're expecting these pirates to say, to be honest. Generally speaking, I'm pretty sure that most pirates/hackers/crackers have no real interest in saving and/or making money, whether it be on a $1 game or on a copy of Photoshop... and frankly, I very much doubt that they even bother to claim any kind of ideological basis for their activities, such as the old tried-and-true "sticking it to the man" argument. No; I would bet that they do what they do... because they can. It's more of an intellectual game then anything else. The train of thought probably looks a little bit like this: "Hey, this Android Marketplace thing is pretty neat and all... but the thing is basically Linux at it's core, so I'd just bet I could find a way around paying for stuff. I wonder what would happen if I ..."
(Of course, the problem is that when you pull on exactly the wrong thread, you can suddenly find that you've unraveled the entire tapestry...)
