Audio when you're video conferencing is it good enough?

What do you think about the iPads audio when you're using it for conference calls. Do you think it would be practical to add an audio endpoint with echo cancellation and noise supression to enhance the audio quality?

Using what? A VOIP app to call into a tele-conference call? Some sort of video conference call (like Google Hangouts)? Or something else?
