App store Cannot connect to iTunes store

When I click on the iPad App Store button I get a pop up saying "Cannot connect to iTunes store". This just started happening and I cannot update my apps except through my desktop computer. Why?

I have been having the same error. I went back and turned off my wi-fi connection and then turned it back on and now it all works again...
