I posted the following but without any positive responses:

I recorded my nieces wedding with a flip camera for our own use. Her professional failed with his video so my amateur shots are the only video recording. Problem is that when I put the files on disc the windows users see only video or only hear sound but not both. I myself tried it with XP and "7" ane it is true. I used Windows Media Player and VLC to no avail. I tried to understand Codecs, but it is beyond my tech ability.

The files are in .AVI and in mp4 and work fine on the Mac. What can I do to get these files on a DVD that windows can run, Mike Bushey

I need to get this converted, are there any professional services that could do this file conversion for me?

I would give Miro video converter or Handbrake a go, they are free.

There are other free utilities as well that can accept some files and convert them into another. I would stay away from any paid software until you find out that you can't do it for free, as there is plenty of scamware and crapware out there, that's just a rebadge of free tools.

Also, what happens when you import the clip into iMovie? You should be able to export it from there as well.
