This is pretty awesome! Do you need an iPhone 4S or newer to make ringtones, or will it work on an iPhone 4 as well?

According to iTunes the only thing you need is iOS6.

More important for me:
Do you need iTunes Match to make ringtones?

As gramuel writes, Apple states only that you need iOS 6 to create Ringtones with GarageBand.

I did this when Garageband came out and made a ringtone for my 3GS. Just saying. Of course, I did it on the iMac and then it just went into iTunes.

How do you go about deleting a ring tone once you've created it. I couldn't find any way to do it from my iPhone. Do I have to remove it via iTunes?

I like to create ringtones on my IPad but often can't wait till i get home to sync my Ipad to my MBP to download it and then via itunes transfer it onto my IPhone. Seeing that I am saiving my ringtones in Cloud is there a way of uploading my IPad created ringtone to my Iphone bypassing Itunes?

Also, what exactly is the correct length in bars for a ringtone? on my MBP i can create 30s tones and my phone is fine with that. If I create in IPad garageband a track of say 14bars it doesn't like it and tries to crop it. Any ideas?

I can't get this to work. When I try to create a song and select the "Copy from iTunes" option, I get an error message that "No songs are available to copy." I have several songs downloaded on my phone and even copied some in the iTunes/Garage Band application transfer box. Weird. Anyone know why? I have a 4G/64Gb with lots of room left, I'm running iOS6.1, Mountain Lion, etc. Everything's up to date and working fine.

Do not select "Copy from iTunes".

Select New Song.
Select any of the Smart instruments to get the visualizer option.
