Here is the thing, no matter what every time I edit a note on my MBA running ML I end up with duplicated notes on iCloud server, an edited version, along with the old one. Any idea what is going on? The more I edit a note the more it gets replicated, that will not happen when editing a note on an IOS device or either via icloud.com (safari), it also won't show duplicated on ML, but it's duplicated on the server, so when the IOS device sync with iCloud all duplicated versions are downloaded. Tryed to delete a few library folders related to notes but no avail.... Almost going to a clean installation on ML since I don't know how to fix it.....

Thanks!

Today after more testing, having the icloud.com website open along with the ML Notes application running I was able to figure out that editing a note on ML and not quitting it right away the new note will be created on iCloud server and the old one will be deleted.... but if I quit the application right away the new one will eventually be created on the server but the old one will not be removed. Once again doing the same thing with my iPhone the problem will not occur.... So having the icloud.com webbrowser interface open I can have a clear view that editing a not on ML and quitting it is the cause of the problem, so some reason the new note is uploaded to the server but the old one is not deleted, while having the ML still running the new one is uploaded and the olde version deleted.... go figure!!!

You likely just are not giving the Notes app in Mountain Lion enough time to complete "syncing" the notes with iCloud before you quit the application. Keep in mind that iPhone apps never really "quit" when you leave them...they are still running in the "background", so when you do it with the iPhone it likely has the time to complete the sync. In ML, it is likely that the Notes apps needs to be open for the sync to complete and maybe you are just quitting it before the sync completes.

You are correct, leaving it open for a while solved the problem, no duplicated notes since then .... but it is somewhat annoying to have to remember that all the time. Thanks!

You could just leave the Reminders application running all the time....basically like an iOS device does (unless you specifically kill it). To some degree, the Mac OS is kind of moving in this direction.

Even if you don't want to go to this extreme, you likely will "learn" to leave it open a bit longer just as habit after a while. Right now it is a pain because you are likely just used to quitting the application right away. Once you "train" yourself to wait a bit, it might become second nature.
