Anyone know if Contacts is searchable in iOS6?

I use an older Touch in my business and sometimes need to look up a customer using a phone number as input info. Doesn't work with my older Touch.
My wife's newer (Gen 4 Touch) is searchable only by name, not numbers.

Didn't know whether a new Touch or iPad Mini running iOS6 would have number search, especially in Contacts. Any help?

Hate to answer my own question, but…...

I had to be at an event today and went early so I could stop and visit the nearby Apple Store in KCMO.
Got one of the blue shirts to check out the new iPad Mini and he confirmed that the new OS/devices are searchable.
I tried it using sample phone numbers on a Mini and it worked as it should.

So it looks like I'll have to upgrade from my old Touch to the current gen of devices running iOS6 to get what I need.

BTW, the new Mini was really nice. Surprisingly responsive and the lack of a Retina Display wasn't a big deal to me.
And, Christmas is coming up!

If it is possible in iOS 6, then it must be a new feature to iOS 6 as my iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1 (haven't gotten around to upgrading yet...soon, very soon) won't search by phone number.

I decided to pass on the new iPad mini and get a refurb 4th gen. iPod Touch instead. Received it and ran the OS update and can confirm OS6 does indeed provide searching by name or number, at least in Contacts. I used that feature again today when a call came into my cell phone while I was away from it. Did the search on the Touch by phone number and it worked great!
