Recently, in trying to install OS X on three different hard drives I have received the following error message:
"You cannot install Mac OSX on this volume. Mac OSX cannot start up on this volume."
I have changed permissions and ownership on the drives with no positive results. The drives are primarily Seagate 250 GB SATA drives.
Has anyone seen this error message? Do you know the solution?
Thanks

I am assuming that these are "internal" SATA drives. Is that a correct assumption?
How are the drives formatted...i.e. have then formatted for a Mac?
