It happened 20 years ago, way before Samsung had a substantial strategic relationship with Seagate. So he might have been mad at Seagate, how does that translate into being biased against Samsung? Samsung didn't become an international computer business until the early 90's. Hogan probably forgot about it. I don't remember most of the things I did 20 years ago so why should this be used against him?

Samsung has $1.05 billion worth of reasons to get out of this decision. But their own lawyers approved this man as a juror. Do their tack is basically "We didn't do our job right in jury selection and we'd like a do-over".

Talk about grasping!
For those who think Apple pulled a fast one I hope you are paying attention to Samsungs best reply so far

I can tell you that in South Korea, LG, Samsung and Daewoo, are known for cloning or copying an idea. I was stationed out in Chuncheon and Seoul in 2001 and had a computer that I knew was old and hard to find parts. It was running Windows 98. The parts were the 486 or Pre-pentium chips. Back home, those parts are hard to come by. In the Market Areas of ChunCheon and Seoul, the parts were there and available in formats I didnt think was possible. Daewoo had a car that I never saw before. In fact, it looked like the Mercedes Benz. I had suits made from pictures. Could buy just about anything back home, in South Korea. Just imagine finding something old that you wanted to use today, but wasnt being produced... Just go to South Korea and you can get it. Like a $20 Rolex....
That was in 2001.... I am sure if they got plans for something, they could make it. Not just make it... Improve on it or enhance it. Google was the provider of the Maps, developers were able to get the software from Apple. How hard is it to take a program and flip it to something you would want to make as your own and sell? Look at the vintage cars.... A home Mechanic can get parts from various companies and say it is an original. Who would know? Only those who know how to look up the VIN and say it is real. You can do just about anything these days and say I was the originator, once you got the plans!
I can tell you first hand, LG, Samsung and Daewoo can clone... I get parts for my HT1250 radio from China and South Korea.... Looks like the same parts Motorola has, just cheaper! Samsung knows they have to pay, but they will try everything possible to delay or get out of it. Just because someone knew the truth about how you do stuff, it doesnt change what you did. Thats what kids do when they get in trouble.
Self Preservation!

I can tell you from experience. I lives in SE Asia for 2 years. If you want something made, copied, decompiled, whatever.. you can easily find someone to do so.

I remember when I was a kid lived in Hong Kong 30 years ago, there was an open market in north part of the HK island. At the market, one could buy all sorts of "high end" products for cheap. From Rolax gold watches ($20 HKD) to Gucci hand bags ($2HKD), you name it. Heck, in China there were even cloned Apple stores!! They clone everything, next time you go there you might even find your lost-at-birth twin! :0
