My keychain looked a lot like this. I was wondering what the "ids" and "public and private keys" were for. I decided to "Reset My Default Keychain" and start over. Now I don't have any the public and private keys anymore as well as the ids Application Passwords. Do I need those keys and Application passwords?

What did you suppose would happen when you locked your keychain?

Well - I did NOT expect that after I unlocked it and proceeded to use the computer I would continually (every 2-3 min) get interrupted by another process asking for authentication. If this tip was intended to be applied by people that actually USE their computers, I would offer my opinion that it is not helpful. AND - after disabling the lock I STILL get authentication requests after each startup. What does it take to return to the default behavior and get rid of all the authentication interruptions?

Seriously? When did Bill Gates start working for Apple?

How do you just turn all of this off?

Thank you so much for the info. I have few dozens of accounts and recently I was getting lost with all the passwords. Your article saved me a lot of time. For all the other lost souls: on mac activate your key chain and the auto fill option under Safari preferences, and than make sure that all the boxes are checked. Your life become so much easier.
