My first thought when trying to use the new interface was that Microsoft must have acquired the company. It is busy, cluttered, and counterintuitive. The new bar shows you your notebooks, but with no rotating arrowhead to allow you to expand them. Instead they take over yor entire window if you touch them. There is no intuitive way to organize materials, drag and drop does not drag, or drop. Grab a recent note from the bar at the left. Drag it to a notebook in the main window. It does not move there, or copy there. in fact, I have yet to determine just how one might relocate a note to a different notebook.

A ballooning featureset with increased complexity of navigation, reduced intuitiveness, and inscrutable interface elements is not what is expected from an award-winning Mac/iOS app. Hire a well-known interface design consulting firm, and task them with a v5.5 GUI update to effectively support your new featureset, ASAP!

New interfaces always take a little getting used to. But that initial pain is often worth it.

Evernote does not work for a very important use case: upload a large size photo from iOS. The problem has been reported by many paying customers to support but all cases have been closed by them WITHOUT resolution. The problem has been confirmed by internal Evernote employees on their forum. There is a two-month (as of Jan 17, 2013) discussion, seven pages long: http://discussion.ev...note-sync-error

Anyone going to sign up, particular businesses, should check out the thread before making a decision. There is no indication this will be fixed ever because all support cases were closed and they would not let users know of internal bug fix status. Very disappointed.
