So I grabbed this app the day this article was posted and I've participated a bit. It's bizarrely addictive. But because my brain sometimes travels down darker paths, I've been musing lately on the possibility that eliminating the last block might trigger something abhorrent. They've consistently referred to this as an experiment, and it could be some sort of a variant Milgram idea on the concept of sharing culpability across a huge population. This morning, combining the name "Curiosity", the terminology of experimentation and the presentation of a box that we're trying to get inside it occurred to me that the "appropriate" end result would be to kill a cat.
Realistically, I doubt that any such outcome is planned. But the possibility bugs me enough that I'm not planning to continue.
