What is available if you want a holster that doesn't require a case in addition to the holster, so you can remove the iPhone from the holster completely?

I kind of like the Seidio with the snap-in on the belt clip.
Maybe not the best value, but the one I had for my iPhone 4, and iPhone 3 before that never let me down.

Michelle, my post answers your question.
Available from NewEgg, or Seidio online.

I have to fully agree with Pure Gear's iPhone 5 kickstand/holdster case. I've had many cases but this one is the most useful. It does a fantastic job keeping the phone thin and non-bulky but the case serves the purpose while working out. Pure Gear also has several other cases worthy of consideration.

Awesome roundup. And I totally agree, Pad and Quill makes easily the best iPhone 5 case you'll ever see. This list had them on it too in the #1 spot- http://www.iphone5ca...-5-cases-so-far

For what it's worth, if you want something super thin, the Elago Aluminum Outfit case is pretty amazing as well.

How about the thinnest case? The Incipio feather case is nice. I have AppleCare, I'm competent, and all I want to do is protect it from scratches. The last thing I want to do is add any bulk to my phone.

The Speck case will not fit Lightning adapters and sounds docks because the hole size at the bottom of the case is too small. That's a critical design omission.

I've been using the "Zero 5 (0.5mm) UltraThin for iPhone 5" from CAZE. It's thin and transparent so it doesn't detract from the phone itself.

I still have to go with the Otterbox. My 4s has been dropped, popped out of the holster and been dunked in a mountain stream and it still works without fail or scratches.

The Chinese are offering a leatherette iPhone 5 case with magnetic latch that opens like a book for under $10. Check out eBay.

The Ballistic Hard Core case is MUCH better than the Otterbox Defender. I don't know why the Defender is so popular. It's bulkier and doesn't provide as good protection as the Ballistic. I've had the Ballistic for 18 months and it's the best buy I've made for the phone.

Otterbox Defender doesn't really protect as much as you claim...the camera is exposed on the back, as is the front camera - not worried so much about dirt, but - if it gets wet it's done! Still waiting for my Lifeproof for iPhone 5 (had one for my iPhone 4 and it worked great...) yet you don't even mention it?
